This time of year we call a 30-second timeout, put down the Offside Whistle and take pause.
While each year we hope with great, child-like enthusiasm, that a box under the tree will be from Mark Chipman's group, we realize that many more things are important.
The holiday season brings us a time to get together with friends and family. Regardless of your personal faith celebrations, it is a terrific time to stop and reflect on what is truly important in life.
It is a truly magical time for children and all those around them. Watching children's eyes light up with wonder and excitement is a true joy at this time of year. And counting with them the days down to the big day is a rite of passage for both child and parent.
We have much to be thankful for. Living in Winnipeg and enjoying the benefits of being Canadian would take us days if not weeks to list and cherish them all. A special heartfelt thanks goes out to those who won't be home for Christmas such as the military and aid workers around the world, and also for others such as police officers, fire fighters, ambulance and hospital staff who are always at the ready.
So from all of us at Manitoba Mythbusters, we wish you and yours a great time this season and a very happy, prosperous and healthy new year.
See you in 2009!
Chris
